If you require surgical services, you can rest easy knowing that Marlboro Park Hospital offers a comprehensive Surgical Service. Our Board Certified surgeons perform surgical procedures in many different specialties on an inpatient and outpatient basis.

The Operating Room (OR), Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), Outpatient Surgery (OPS) and the Gastrointestinal (GI) Lab combine to provide you with the very best in surgical care.

Our team of highly skilled and compassionate perioperative nurses prepare patients for surgery, assist physicians during surgery and monitor patients in our Post-Anesthesia Care Unit. Specialized training and experience give our nurses the skills they require to provide excellent car, ease the anxiousness of surgery and provide important educational information.

The current Outpatient Surgery Unit opened on October 2002. It includes 11 private rooms. It also includes a Gastroenterology Suite/Lab.

The Gastroenterology (GI) Lab provides services used in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the digestive tract. The digestive tract is traditionally separated into sections (organs), mouth and pharanyx, esophagus, stomach, duodenum, small bowel (small intestine), colon (large intestine) and rectum. Our nurses are trained in the related GI lab procedures and work hand in hand with our gastroenterologists to bring you the best in treatment.

After recovery, outpatients remain in the hospital as long as needed on the day of surgery, before being released by their physician. Inpatients are transferred to our surgical unit, where they are cared for by our team of registered nurses, again under the direction of their surgeon. Critically ill patients are closely monitored by specially-trained staff in our intensive care unit.
