Marlboro Park Hospital offers extended services through our swing bed program. Swing bed services provide short stay, post-hospital skilled care within the hospital. It also provides rehabilitative and skilled care to primarily older adults and is reimbursed by Medicare Part A.
This program is designed for patients who need a few additional days to recuperate from a hospital stay but don't require acute care. Each resident is formally discharged from the hospital and admitted to the swing bed unit. If the resident becomes acutely ill in the swing bed unit, they may be discharged from the swing bed unit and readmitted to acute care.
Swing bed services include 24 hour nursing care by licensed clinical personnel (RNs,LPNs and CNAs); physical , occupational, speech and respiratory therapist as needed and/or ordered by your physician.
The swing bed unit at Marlboro Park Hospital bridges the gap between a hospital stay and home and/or another facility.
Marlboro Park Hospital is fortunate to be able to offer this extended service to our patients as well as our community. Please call Case Management for any questions or concerns regarding swing beds.
