Laboratory partners with LabCorp to improve quality of service

The clinical laboratory at Marlboro Park Hospital recently partnered with LabCorp, Inc. to enhance the quality of services offered to patients at Marlboro Park Hospital. A new computer system was purchased that allows faster resulting of tests run by LabCorp. With the old system, LabCorp would perform the tests and fax the results daily to the laboratory. The laboratory would then have to send a separate report by fax or mail to the physician’s office. The new system allows quicker delivery by test results automatically going into the laboratory’s computer system when a test is completed and automatically faxing to the physicians office. This allows for faster results on lab tests and improved quality care.

The laboratory is also now collecting pre-employment drug screens for LabCorp. Previously, an employee would have to travel to a LabCorp facility in Laurinburg or Florence to collect employment drug screens. Employees can now use our laboratory as a collection site for drug screens that will be sent to LabCorp, which is a new service that will help our community members by not them having to leave the county which will save them time and money.

Our laboratory staff is dedicated to improving the quality of health and health care services to the patients of Marlboro Park Hospital and the citizens of Marlboro County. Our goal is to improve the health of the people of this county by offering quality and cost-effective services.
