Marlboro Park Hospital Pharmacy
Marlboro Park Hospital Pharmacy is an inpatient pharmacy that provides pharmaceutical care for inpatient and outpatient services. The pharmacy is staffed with pharmacists and certified pharmacy technicians. The pharmacists have completed and graduated from 6 years of intense study from an accredited pharmacy school and successfully passed the NABPLEX(North American Board of Pharmacy Licensure Exam) and Jurisprudence exam for the state of South Carolina. The Technicians are state certified by the SC Board of Pharmacy and nationally certified by the PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board).
The pharmacy ensures on a daily basis that patients are given the best pharmaceutical care. This involves making sure that any new medications that are prescribed during the hospital stay do not interfere with their regular maintenance medications. The pharmacy also has a renal dosing program to make sure that medications which are cleared by the kidney are not harmful to patients kidneys. In addition to this the pharmacy also has a pharmacokinetic dosing program where medications are dosed according to how they are absorbed, distributed and eliminated from the body.
The pharmacy will be receiving flu vaccines soon and will be distributed to the Rural Health Center and Palmetto Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine.
