Visitor Information

Visitors can be good medicine for patients therefore family and friends are welcome to visit. However, patient care is our primary concern and it is important for patients to receive as much rest and relaxation as possible.

To provide a controlled, quiet atmosphere whereby all patients are allowed visitation without jeopardizing their privacy and the privacy of others, while complying with infection control standards, Marlboro Park Hospital asks you to adhere to the following guidelines:

General visitation is encouraged during the daytime hours but no later than 8:30 p.m. (certain restrictions apply for Women & Children's Unit, Senior Mental Health and the ICU/CCU, certain restrictions may apply for individual patients & visitors should check at the nurses station). Visitors are to enter through the front door.

Note: The front doors will be locked at 8:30 p.m. The double doors located near the ER/Admissions will be locked between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Visitors arriving after hours will check through the outpatient registration desk. The security guard will call the nursing unit to assure permission before the visitors will be allowed to go past the double doors.

Visitors should report to the information desk upon arrival to the hospital. They will receive a visitor's pass to identify them as a visitor - this also includes children. If there are any questions regarding the children visiting, the receptionist will call the unit to verify approval. The adhesive visitor passes will be displayed in clear view and will denote room number and the date of issue.

Children under the age of 12 will require special permission from the charge nurse to visit in the patient care area. Only sibling visitation is allowed in the Women's Center.
Note: Children are not to be left unattended in the lobby.

A maximum of three visitors may visit at one time (certain restrictions apply for Women & Children's Unit, Senior Mental Health and the ICU/CCU, certain restrictions may apply for individual patients - visitors should check at the nurses station).

Any visitor with fever, cold, or any symptoms of infection should not visit.

No smoking in patient rooms. Marlboro Park Hospital is a tobacco free campus.

No foods, candies, etc., should be brought into the patient rooms without permission from the nurse and/or physician.

Visitors are required to wear appropriate clothing (i.e., shoes, shirts).

Visitors remaining overnight must have special permission from the charge nurse or supervisor.

Exceptions: Parents with Pediatric patients. Visitors of the same sex are preferred when it is necessary for a visitor to remain with the patient.

Visitors for isolation patients must check at the nurse's station to obtain information on precautions prior to entering patient's room.

Visitors are encouraged to wash their hands before and after visiting.

Visitors must be quiet and orderly to provide all patients with privacy and a soothing atmosphere. Those visitors failing to comply may be asked to leave the area.
